Operating System Security

[Abstract]
Since a risk of illegal access to computers is increasing with computer network spreading, tampering of web pages and infection of worm actually become a social problem. Existing operating system is inadequate for addressing these illegal accesses. Then, we study some methods for enhancing security and implement them. We also evaluate existing operating systems with such methods. In our research, we propose a intrusion detection method for Linux OS and we evaluate the security of a configuring tool for Security-Enhanced Linux(SELinux), an operating system developed in order to improve the security of Linux OS.
